Building An Ecosystem of Partners – One Partner at a Time

In May 2016, GE Healthcare Digital President and CEO, Charles Koontz introduced the Centricity™ Partner Program at our annual Centricity LIVE user group meeting. Through the Centricity Partner Program, independent software vendors (ISVs), systems integrators, value-added resellers (VARs), service providers and technology partners can actively test that their software and services work seamlessly with Centricity software. As a result, our customers gain more confidence that the software and services they’re considering will meet their clinical and business needs and work smoothly with their existing software.

If you have ever created similar industry-leading programs, you know that road from an idea to reality is not an easy one. It requires leadership, collaboration and partnerships on many fronts. It took several players across GE and our existing partner community to come together to create a program that will be a win-win for customers, partners and GE Healthcare.

One of the partner community leaders amongst many who provided counsel and support throughout the Partner Program definition and creation phases was John Juzaitis, Chief Revenue Officer of Medfusion, Inc. His team worked with us on the proof-of-concept as well as to evaluate the possible program benefits. Together, we considered resources like digital marketing campaigns, listing on GE Healthcare.com and access to Service Portal etc.

Today I’m pleased to announce that Medfusion is the first company to become our inaugural member.

Centricity rigorously tests and verifies applicant offerings for approval to enter the Centricity Partner Program. We looked at Medfusion’s patient engagement and portal solutions, like Medfusion’s patient self-scheduling, which can drastically ease staff burdens by enabling patient-initiated scheduling for simple appointments. Medfusion also offers a PCI Level 1-compliant suite of patient pay options, including budget payment plans that seamlessly integrate with the Practice Management system and consolidate reporting for simple reconciliation of payments from all sources (online, point-of-sale, payment plans, etc.). As well, Medfusion knows that modern patient engagement starts with the online experience, so the Medfusion portal provides a patient-friendly sign-up workflow including auto-invitations. To learn more, I’d like you to visit their website at or ask us for an introduction to their team.

Behind the scenes, we had constant support from Kim Labow, CEO at Medfusion, who not only wanted Medfusion to be the first member of the Centricity Partner Program but also made sure that her team saw this partnership as a priority. On the day we signed an agreement with Medfusion, Kim shared this with us:

“GE shares our vision for simplifying the patient experience, and we are honored to be the first company verified in this new program. This selection is a testament to how our solution helps practices accelerate portal adoption and enables patients to feel empowered and engaged in their healthcare decisions.”

When we made the Centricity Partner Program available to our partner community, the GE Healthcare Digital team made a powerful customer promise: to create an ecosystem of third-party software applications and services that serves their needs, and continue to collaboratively test and verify their software with GE Healthcare solutions.

The response has been extremely positive. Within a period of four months, approximately 80 software and services vendors have expressed interest to participate.

Personally, I am excited about the Centricity Partner Program as it creates value for our customers and formalizes our relationship and commitment to our partner community and ecosystem.  We’ll keep growing our partner ecosystem – one partner at a time.

If you have suggestions or feedback regarding the program or are interested in becoming a Centricity Partner, please send us a note at centricity.partner@ge.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
